I too still have a big ol' box of tapes that I can't part with. Every year when I do my annual spring cleaning I come across them and think maybe I should toss them out or something. I just can't seem to get rid of them. I don't know about you, but I think part of it is, is that it took me a long time to acquire them and met a lot of cool people along the way when I was trading. And they do carry many good memories for me. Remember waiting for the mail man to come and hoping that he would be dropping off "something" in bubble wrap?

During my annual cleaning, I usually end up taking a few weeks and listen to random shows. If you are going to keep them I would suggest that you break them out every once in a while and run them through the tape deck, fast forward and then rewind. It will keep the tape from sticking to itself.

There are certainly advantages to our digital age, in that you can download a show in a matter of minutes, I do like that. But I have to admit that sometimes I miss the "good old days" when you had to know someone and of course the whole social aspect of trading.
